The therapeutic relationship between a therapist and client is key. In my work with clients, I take an individualized and collaborative approach to care, respecting where each client is in their path to wellness. I see my clients with the highest positive-regard and believe that everyone has resilience and strength to bring to their own therapeutic process. My style is supportive, empathic, and direct and I try to bring humor into healing when possible. My goal is to help clients increase self understanding, self acceptance, and psychological flexibility to begin to make the changes necessary to live a life they want to be fully present in.
I specialize in the treatment of adults struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, and depression.
Other areas of concentration include: body image issues, stress management, dual diagnosis, perfectionism, women's issues and life transitions.
For the past 11 years, I have worked at every level of care including outpatient, IOP, PHP, Residential, and Inpatient Hospitalization. I was the Clinical Manager at Eating Recovery Center in Chicago and received intensive training through ERC, Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital, and Linden Oaks Behavioral Health Hospital. My therapeutic approach has been influenced by my training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I take an eclectic approach to therapy, bringing in these evidence-based therapies as well as other modes of therapy.
I received my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology with a Counseling Specialization from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University.
